PostScript Society — Return & Refund Policy

This policy explains how we handle order changes, returns, and refunds for both our Letter Stories and Merchandise & Collectible Items.
For details on replacements or resends of lost letters, please see our Shipping & Delivery Policy.


1) Order Changes and Cancellations

  • Change or cancel an order: Email hello@postscriptsociety.com within 24 hours of placing your order, as long as it has not yet shipped.

  • Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled, but we’ll still do our best to help through a refund or account credit where applicable.


2) Letter Stories (one-time purchases and subscriptions)

Our Promise

We want you to love your letters. If something isn’t right, simply email hello@postscriptsociety.com and we’ll make it right.

Satisfaction Window

  • 30-day support window: Contact us within 30 days of delivery of your first letter for personalized help, which may include a refund, credit, or other resolution at our discretion.

Monthly, Auto-Renewing Subscriptions

  • You can cancel anytime to stop future renewals.

  • Refunds for charges already processed:

    • If you contact us within 30 days of receiving your most recent letter, we can review a refund request for that charge.

    • After 30 days, refunds are typically unavailable for processed payments. We will still ensure you receive any letters already paid for.

Prepaid Subscriptions

  • Prorated refunds are available within 60 days of the subscription start date. We’ll calculate and refund the unused portion.

  • After 60 days, refunds are not available, but the remaining letters in your subscription will continue to ship.

Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Letters

  • Email hello@postscriptsociety.com within 7 days of delivery. Include your order number, a brief description, and photos if possible. We’ll replace or resolve it quickly.

Note: Because letters are printed and personalized to your story timeline, we do not require returns of previously delivered letters.


3) Merchandise & Collectible Items

This includes items such as keepsake boxes, stationery, display sets, and other bookish products.

Return Window

  • 30-day return policy from the date of delivery. To begin a return, email hello@postscriptsociety.com for instructions and the return address.

Return Conditions

To qualify for a refund:

  • The item must be unused, undamaged, and in resellable condition.

  • Original packaging (if applicable) must be included.

  • Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) must be provided.

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend a trackable shipping service.

Refunds are processed after the returned item is received and inspected. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Damaged, Defective, or Wrong Item

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, email hello@postscriptsociety.com within 7 days with your order number, description, and clear photos. We’ll send a replacement or process a refund.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Personalized items, gift cards, and final-sale products are not eligible for return.


4) Address Errors and Undeliverable Orders

Refunds are not available for orders that cannot be delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout.
If you realize there’s an address issue, please email hello@postscriptsociety.com as soon as possible so we can help before shipping.


5) Refund Timing

Once your refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Please note that banks or credit card providers may require additional time to post the credit.
